My ‘to be read’ list

Prompt: Summer reading time! What books do you plan to read this summer?

It might be warming up in the Northern Hemisphere, but down here, it’s getting colder every day. I recently bought a new duvet cover that’s a sort of faux fur, and it’s warm and snuggly.

While summer is awesome, winter is actually a better season for getting reading done. Often in New Zealand the summer sun is too harsh to read in the sun, plus there’s too many other things to be doing outdoors. But in winter, it’s perfect weather for staying indoors, preferably snuggled up in bed with a book. So I hope to get a bunch of reading done.

When I find a book that interests or intrigues me, I download a sample from Amazon. That way, I can see if I like the way the book is written before I commit to buying it. Sometimes it catches me out because I’m several chapters in and I know it’s going to be a three star read, but man, I’m already invested now! Sometimes it’s brilliant, because I start reading and think ‘What the fuck?’ and delete the sample and live happily ever after. Ha ha! And of course sometimes I think ‘Yes, this is going to be awesome’ and then it goes places I never thought it would, like Power Play by Cara Dee which I did NOT expect to involve Daddy and Littles kink. Ugh.

Yeah, so while I’m not committing to buy and reading these books, these are the samples I’ve downloaded that I’m going to check out:
